Save the Children gives children in the United States and around the world what every child deserves – a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When disaster strikes, we put children's needs first. We advocate for and achieve large-scale change for children. We save children's lives.

I chose this website because the work with children in the US and around the world. I also chose this website because the advocate for children around the world.  In March Newsletter the talk about Broken health system in Syria.  They has article  " A Devastating Toll: The Impact of Three Years of War on the Health of Syria's Children."  This article talk about the toll the war have on children and their no doctor their to help families. I found this interesting because you only hear about the war  the put a face on the war and how effect children in this country.

Making  Contact

 

For this course we required to make contact with two early childhood professional in other countries. I contact the  Early Childhood Australia: The Australian Early Childhood Advocacy Organization. I wanted to learn more about their early Childhood education.  I Sign up for their newsletter.  Next I contact Save the Children   I just wanted to know more about what that do for children.

 

My  early childhood education focus  and have chosen to concentrate on the Zero to Three site. I worked at early head start program. This website have information the benefit me as teacher and I can give my parent information  from them

My daily support I receive is from my parents   when they volunteer in my classroom and also support me with their child education.  My student for allow me to be apart life and watch them grow.

My co-worker support on daily basis my share ideas with each. We also give each other advice on how to handle parents and children in the center.

Is my mother who is my big support? Who support my education goal and it life. Who is always there for me?

If I lose this support I will be lost because everybody need support in their life.

The benefit of support it allow me to grow as person and it have a positive impact on my life. Because each person give of their time of their time.

Only challenge is that you don’t get support you need when need it but it will also be there for you.

I was the queen of the big wheel  I had total of 5 big wheels

       

When I was younger my mother and grandmother  support my play  by give opportunity  to explore my environment . In the summer time I would help my grandmother in her garden. My mother introduce me to new thing how to play jax and how to jump rope. Also the parent in the neighbor  who allow us children to play all day long and have fun.

Play today is not the same as when I was a child. We went outside and play game like freeze tag, kick ball, Mother May I, jump rope,  and hand game  example hand up to  85. Today children  do not play outside because the environment is not safe for them. I wish that children today can play for at least 30 minutes  day  beside in  school.

In my life play was played an important role. It allow be develop  good friends. It taught rule on how  to play game. I it allow me  to free to explore my environment as child. Now play in  life is different  now teaching child how to play  and giving opportunity to play.

Testing

Testing

The think that we are not looking at the child holistically when it comes to standardize test. If a child has a disability   they take the same test.  For example if a child with autism they are on the   first grade level but in the fourth grade the will take the test on the fourth grade level.  In my opinion   I feel that we are teaching to the test. In the Philadelphia School District every six week the students take bench mark test.

 I choose the PISA standardize Test. This test focus on math, reading, and science.  I compare United States with China. Shanghai lead the world in the PISA Score. Compare to China the United States is far behind science, math, and reading.  Shanghai student get out school at 4pm and cram homework until bedtime.

 

I think that we as teacher should come up it test that help the whole children. Also I think we should not be teaching to the test.  I also feel that our student are under a lot of pressured when it comes to taking test .Over all standardize test is the way school are measure how good school are doing.
