My Connections to Play

Play is our brain's favorite way of learning.

Diane Ackerman

Children have always learned and created places for themselves through play.

Donna R. Barnes

When children pretend, they’re using their imaginations to move beyond the bounds of reality. A stick can be a magic wand. A sock can be a puppet. A small child can be a superhero.

Fred Rogers

I was the queen of the big wheel  I had total of 5 big wheels

When I was younger my mother and grandmother  support my play  by give opportunity  to explore my environment . In the summer time I would help my grandmother in her garden. My mother introduce me to new thing how to play jax and how to jump rope. Also the parent in the neighbor  who allow us children to play all day long and have fun.

Play today is not the same as when I was a child. We went outside and play game like freeze tag, kick ball, Mother May I, jump rope,  and hand game  example hand up to  85. Today children  do not play outside because the environment is not safe for them. I wish that children today can play for at least 30 minutes  day  beside in  school.

In my life play was played an important role. It allow be develop  good friends. It taught rule on how  to play game. I it allow me  to free to explore my environment as child. Now play in  life is different  now teaching child how to play  and giving opportunity to play.

  2. Great post! Play today is not the same as when we were growing up. We had the freedom to run around until we couldn't run anymore and to yell as loud as we could and wanted to. We were engaged in so many learning opportunities. Playing outdoors is a great place to explore and learn about the world. Children can learn about plants, animals, and weather by playing outdoors. Outdoor play is important!!!
