Using Social Media

                                                  Using Social Media

Provide a brief overview of your past and present experience with social media.

My past experience with social media has been just Facebook were I context family and friends.

My present experience with social media is Facebook, Instagram, twitter, and Pinterest. Now I follow different organizations like Save the Children and Children’s Defense Fund.

Describe what social media tools you feel lend themselves to effective advocacy

I feel that social media tools lend themselves to effective advocacy when we do hashtags for different cause. For example when I went to an ECE conference, they said hashtags this to the governor of state. Also I ask you to follow us on twitter and like us on Facebook that bring awareness to the cause. I notice that people used social media to promote issues that are trending in the world. For example Devon Still, the NFL player how daughter is fight caner he used social media to bring awareness to her illness.

Identify how you might use these social media tools to educate and inspire others in your advocacy work.

I would use social media to promote my advocacy work by ask people to like my Facebook page, follow us on twitter and Instagram. By doing this allow me to promote my advocacy work and the organization.

Ask your colleagues for their suggestions and/or their help with using social media as a tool to promote advocacy efforts

What is the best social media tool to use to promote advocacy efforts?

  1. Reajean,
I think my favorite social media tool is Facebook, I am a lover of Pinterest but for information, trending issues, or support Facebook is my go to. I haven't had to much exposure to Twitter but I hear great things about the social media site.

  2. I do not use my social media account with my colleagues due to HR guidelines. I am able to review blog sites , and other advocacy groups through Facebook and Twitter.
