What motivated you to start advocating for very young children?
I want to make a different in a child life. I also want to give children health start to
education. I want to support programs that focus child development.
Why is it essential to
acknowledge and foster advocacy efforts at the micro as well as the macro
level?
For me, advocacy starts off as
a grassroots movement with small voices and the more voices add to the movement
demand change.
What does it take to be a
community leader on early childhood issues?
To be a community leader in
early childhood issues the person must be knowledge on what families need in
their community. You must have an open mind and willingness to work with other
with different backgrounds and cultural beliefs. You must work with elected
official in community.
What resources does it take to be a state leader on early
childhood issues?
The two main resources are time and money.
Working with an organization that supports young children educational programs.

for PA is an issue campaign supported by individuals and organizations across
Pennsylvania who believe that investing in our children is the right choice and
an urgent necessity. The 2014 election is was important election year for the state of Pennsylvania. All
children should have the opportunity to enter school ready to succeed, and your
help is needed to send that message to candidates for governor and the legislature.
What tactics or strategies do you use to mobilize others?
Sharing information through social media by creating a page on Facebook, or like the
different organization that support young children and families Naeyc or
Children Defense. Also send emails about
What advice would you give to someone who was interested in taking
a leadership role in advocating for young children and their families?
Start by
joining up with local organizations that support issues that have meaning for
you. Volunteer for an event or attend a community meeting offered via their
membership emails. Learn who the elected officials in community are. Also, write to the elected officials and tell
them about your concern with young children and the changes that you would like
to see for the community.

Raejean I too have had the mission statement of "if you make a difference in the life of a child then, that's time we'll spent; investment that's worth more than all the money in the world. The drive to change an adverse outcomes in there life. The efforts of grassroots organizations and people such as us help make difference in our communities. It helps to show other interested in advocating where they can fit in or where they can start.
